Description
Currently, a stop sign is only for drivers on Foster Road as they approach Windsor Ave. However, it is very difficult to see around the Jennifer Harris memorial and its plantings to see if cars are coming down Windsor Ave. The general topography also doesn't help, as drivers coming from the Foster Pond side of Windsor Ave are coming up a slight hill, making it even more of a blind stop for those on Foster Road. It would be much safer if this were a 3-way stop intersection, or at a minimum adding a stop for Windsor Ave coming from the Foster Pond side.

Are the Traffic Committee meetings open to the public? If so, in which room are they at Town Hall?

Here are a few photos for the committee's review as well

Another photo where, on the right, you can see the stop line and stop sign and on the left, you can see how a car coming straight would not be able to see a car which has stopped and proceeded to the actual end of the road.

Perhaps if this bush were removed and/or a yield sign added to folks approaching this intersection from Windsor, this intersection would be safer. Or, perhaps the Stop line/sign needs to be moved forward to be at the actual end of the intersection. Incidentally, as I was taking these pictures, a driver approached this intersection from Forest, ignored stop line/sign entirely, tapped break at end of Forest with a quick glance to the right, and proceeded.

All traffic meetings are open to the public and posted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.

The Traffic Study Committee voted not to place a stop sign at this intersection. DPW will trim the shrubs back for a better line of sight.

Thank you for looking into this issue and agreeing to cut back the hedges in order to provide a clearer view for drivers coming from either direction. I appreciate that town residents are able to bring up issues in this forum and our opinions are considered. Thank you again, Megan Penyack.
