Description

Between the placement of the street light pole and the dramatically overgrown hedge at 1600 3rd Street (West End Villa Apartments) the sidewalk is far too narrow. The privately owned hedge takes a large part of the sidewalk and the pole takes up most of the rest. I can not imagine how a person using a mobility assistance device could possibly get get past and I am sure it violates the Americans With Disabilities Act. The hedge snagged the handle of my bike yesterday and dumped me into the traffic lane. I was lucky, and there was no vehicle close enough to hit me. The next person might not be so lucky.
