Description
Unkept yard with weeds growing into street. This yard has been unkept for decades. The trees and weeds are growing 5 feet or more out into the street. The leaves and debris can not be reached by street sweepers and the gutter is now also growing weeds. This creates a narrow bottleneck on Ray rd which is dangerous for traffic and pedestrians. My vehicle has been damaged by the overgrown branches reaching into the street. Can I sue the homeowner or the city for my damage? Who is responsible?
Homeowner appears to be using the street to discard yard waste.

Ray Rd. issue:
Will take a look at this at the beginning of next week to verify there is a violation. Sounds like there is as a public space issue. If so perhaps I can request a PS inspector go out and warn and if no compliance cite the owner. Or I may attempt to send a memo once I take a look to the person occupying the house and explain PS rules. Hopefully this will be cleared up and out in a few weeks (several weeks because of due process). Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Dude, you can't drive that close to the curb! ; ) I can see the sidewalk passing is an issue and maybe if leaves are purposefully raked into the street /storm drain, but doesn't the city have some responsibility to clean the storm drains? Also, can anyone find out if the homeowner is elderly or handicapped and could use some temporary help...it's the holiday season! "just sayin" it's the perfect time to help your kids rack up those New Haven Promise community service hours!
