A lot of people get mad at me when I tell them the truth about the reason for the crime and litter that plauges Mt Airy these days but I wont stop. If you follow the time line of the demolition of the cities large public housing complexes and the transplant of their inhabitants as section 8 renters in established working class neighborhoods you will clearly see the drastic change in crime , burglary , school violence , and trash on the streets everywhere. If you know how life in public housing is you know the conditions are terrible and the trash is eventually picked up by housing authority workers, in our neighborhoods we have to pick up the trash. Its a terrible thing but in truth we are the blame we are paying for ignoring the fact that most or all of our social programs dont help and actually depress those who are in need and now they are staring us in the face while politicians smile and get richer.
