The sidewalk next to Comcast and the bus stop on Chapel Street at Olive is disgusting, with trash all over the ground. I'll upload a picture later today.

This issue has been brought to the attention of Comcast. I live 3 doors away and yes it is often a mess. I have gotten out there with a broom myself.
I will be meeting with Comcast next week on another issue. I will remind them to pay closer attention to that area. In the meantime don't be afraid to pick up some yourself to help the community.

This is Andy Ross Chairman of Downtown/Wooster Square Community Management Team. I live a block away from Comcast and walk that route everyday several times a day.
I am by no means sticking up for Comcast because I do think they could put more time into the clean up. Perhaps they should go out several times a day.
I will say that there are two things at play here. One is they do not pick up often enough but I have personally witnessed that area gets filthy 5 minutes after they clean it. Why? Because so many cars, large trucks and the killer of them all the city busses go whizzing by and debris is thrown from one end and side of the street to the other.
The only answer to the problem is to get them to send someone out more often.
With that said I am in direct communications with the building manager because the DTWSCMT is under way with a project to have images put up in place of those ugly black panels in their windows.
I will be sure to keep the pressure on them to keep the block clean.

Wow, well as long as they do it once a day it is hard to ask more, but they should be doing it once a day minimum.
There is no garbage pail at the bus stop? every bus stop needs a garbage pail.
Aside from that, we just have litterers. I saw a cop littering once, so that is an uphill educational battle

I used to have a little sympathy for Comcast believing that they did clean it every day, but that it would get dirty by the end of the day, then I observed something interesting the other day.
Earlier this week the stretch of sidewalk along Comcast was strewn with more litter than usual and it was evenly strewn the complete length of the building, then abruptly stopped where Comcast's building stops and Firestone garage's building starts, at the border of the two businesses. The sidewalk along Firestone on Chapel was as clean as a whistle. Obviously, Firestone cares about its image and its neighbors.
I now have zero sympathy for Comcast and feel they are the least considerate, least neighborly neighbor in Wooster Square.
I also think it is wierd that neighbors have to harp on it endlessly. What should have happened is that when it was brought to Comcast's attention, Comast should have arranged to keep it clean, diligently, and this issue should have been closed.
Also, is Comcast responsible for maintaining that parking lot? I didn't know that. I thought that parking lot belonged to Smoothie Apartments and always wondered why Smoothie would develop these nice apartments but keep a derelict parking lot. Can someone confirm?
Also, are there any municipal ordinances regarding keeping one's sidewalks clean? I know everyone is required by law to remove snow but how about litter? If there is any ordinance that allows Comcast to be cited, it seems to me tough enforcement is way past due. I am personally tired of it. So, at Community Management Team -- can someone ask the district Sgt/Lt. at next meeting if there are any citations they can issue? Comcast needs to feel some tough love.
If they are responsible for the parking lot, can't Livable Cities or someone from City Hall come down on them for their derelict fence? /Blight?
I agree there should be a trash can on that corner, but I would not agree with settling for that, not after noticing how Firestone manages to keep up with their sidewalk, and it shows -- you can actually see the line between trash and no trash some days between those two businesses
