6 months later, and no change. None of the U-turns lights are flashing yellow at 5:30 am. I would have that if there's no impact to safety, a change would have been made by now. At that time of the morning, there would be no impact to safety, but a huge impact to those of us who have to be traveling this route so early in the morning. It would benefit both those traveling 55 and those that wouldn't have to sit at a U-turn waiting on the light. Please make this change as a test case. Let it go for 1 month. If there's no impact to safety, there's no reason not to make it permanent.

9 months later with no change to flashing yellow lights early in the AM, and it's going to get worse since 2 more U-turns are being added on 55 bypass. Which of course at this point is no longer a bypass with a light every 1/4 mile. Unless they allow these U-turn lights to flash yellow early in the AM, or at least synchronize them, I'll be stopping a lot at 5:30 AM. I don't understand why this is such a problem to get changed. It could be done on an experimental basis for a month to see if there are any problems, if not, leave it that way. At 5:30 AM traffic is light and if kept moving, it wouldn't build up at all at any intersection. Please change the U-turn lights to a flashing yellow state at night after midnight through to 6:00 AM !!

About 2 weeks ago, I saw one light flashing yellow at 5:30 AM, so I was hoping that more would follow, but apparently that wasn't the case. Hopefully, this backwards thinking will change soon. It doesn't make any sense to stop 10-12 cars so 1 car can do a U-turn. if they were flashing yellow, the car doing the Uturn wouldn't have to wait, and everyone else wouldn't have to stop. I don't expect this to change anytime soon, but I'm leaving this post open as long as possible and would encourage others to ask for this change also.

Still no change. Stopping 8-10 cars for 1 car to do a U-turn at 5:30 AM. Please make these U-turn lights flash yellow before 6:00 AM so traffic on 55 bypass doesn't have to stop, and the U-turn car doesn't have to wait. Traffic is bad enough already on 55 bypass. They've managed to replace the "bypass" with a normal bumper to bumper road.
Here's an alternative, at least synchronize the lights.so a car going the speed limit would catch all green lights. It's done that way in downtown Raleigh. No reason it couldn't be done here if someone would invest a little time and effort.

They need to just remove all these stoplights. No idea why they were done in the first place, just made traffic worse in that area.

As usual, these were setup by some traffic engineer that doesn't have to drive this route. Especially at 5:30 AM when there's very little traffic and you still have to sit for over 1 min at the light at the intersection of 55 and 55 bypass with no cross traffic. I've had this post open for almost 1 year with no change. Obviously no one cares. Ridiculous !!

Still waiting for a change here. Lights cycling red to green on these u turns at 5:30 AM is ridiculous. Everyone has to wait. The vehicles on 55 and the vehicle trying to make a u turn. Please change them to a flashing yellow cycle for early morning commuters. This would be extremely helpful and improve traffic flow. It would also help avoid some congestion in the AM. I just hope we don't have to wait 451 days for this change to happen like we did for the holly springs road and 55 bypass light.
