  If this uneven sidewalk was caused by an official city street tree please contact the Oakland City Attorneys office. If it was not the fronting property owners are responsible for the maintenance and repair of there there sidewalk. See Sec 5610 of the Calif State Streets and Highway Code and Sec 12.04 of the Oakland Municipal Code. A good accident attorney will be glad to help either way. Get well soon.

  Same thing happened to me on 17th St. Tripped and broke my elbow. Hope you feel better soon and don't forget to file your claim.
