Description
The New Haven police constantly are blowing through the intersection of Ferry and Grand. They do not want to wait for the light to change, so they flash their emergancy lights and blow through, many times crossing the yellow line into oncoming traffic. Last week I was almost hit as I was about to turn right onto Ferry and a cop crossed into the lane I was about to enter on Ferry and speed through turning onto Grand. Instead of turning I decided to follow him and he went to the sub station on Blachely. When he got out he had a bag which I think was his dinner. I guess that was more important to him than my safety.

I have seen this situation play out time and time again. Usually, I see the cops blow a red light WITHOUT having their emergency lights on. I'm sick of it, especially since I only live 2 minutes from the police station. I guess the only way they will stop is if they happen to kill someone.

stop worrying about what the police are doing and get a life

What's the difference if a cop runs a red light?? It's a cop. When they start causing accidents then complain. Maybe they had someplace to be in a hurry. They're here to serve and protect, not put on a dog & pony show for you.

You have absolutly no brains. I do not want to be involved in an accident. This is why I am complaining. He went through the light recklessly! The law does not give them the right to endanger people, even if they are responding to a call, which he was not. Also, try reading the entire comment. The last two sentances I said he was going to the substation. It looked like he was going to eat his dinner. What I failed to mention was, when he got through the intersection, he stopped flashing his lights. This is why I decided to follow him. Also, your last sentance is extremly ignorent. I do not think getting involved in an accident is a horse and pony show. After reading your comment, I can see why you would think it is.

I have a wonderfull life, and I would like to keep it, so please tell your friends not to run red lights anymore. Tell them to get their police manuel out, and go to the chapter about "responding to emergencies". There is a protocal about how to respond.

Look, 99% of my DNA is from a wolf, so I'm not a brain surgeon. I can spell though.
I used to chase cars too, but my owner's have broken me of the habit.
Officer livesinfairhaven, I am glad to hear about your progress with cars. Now maybe your owner can work on house breaking you. I wish you luck with that one.

a cop was recklessly speeding in Orange and killed someone. so to all of you who are telling the original poster to mind his business, or "he's a cop" should shut up. If an Officer of the Law can break these minor laws easily, it makes you wonder what other crimes they are committing.
