    This is the 2nd time I was not warned about the bridge closure, because the only warnings are on the INCOMING side. If you're going in the incoming direction, you're on your way HOME. You no longer care that the bridge might be closed. But since I'm going OUT of Bay Farm Island, I NEED TO KNOW that the bridge isn't going to be open, YET THERE IS NO SIGN at all warning me about the potential of a bridge closure. Why is this? Is Oakland the only city that counts? I get no notice of anything, even though I can't get home and I'm the only one that doesn't know this fact? PLEASE PUT A SIGN ON MY SIDE OF THE BRIDGE WARNING ME THAT I CAN'T GET HOME --BEFORE I LEAVE THE ISLAND. Even better, a notice way back at High Street would be really helpful, too. In addition to the sign outbound on Bay Farm.

    This happens twice a day, Monday through Friday (between around 8-9am and again 1:30-2:30pm). These are blatantly made violations and should be ticketed. It is completely unsafe, as there are children (and adults) running across the driveways and streets that these violaters are endagering, nobody can see past the cars, which is why the markings are there warning the drivers that it is illegal to be there, yet they completely ignore them in violation of law.
  • Bay Farm Island - Alameda
    Between 8am and 845am (and again in the afternoon around 1pm) Packett Landing which is a street becomes a parking lot for Amelia Earhart school with parents and pedestrians having no respect for traffic laws, parking regulations, or private property. These people also block the exits and entrances for residents to enter and exit their homes. The school has enough property to create a bigger and more usable parking lot, how do we get them to do that? Even better would be a pickup area on the other side of the property since all parties would have to enter and exit in a single direction, easing traffic on the roads and stopping the need for people darting across the street.

    Thursday morning it took 30 minutes to go from Packett Landing to the light at Island Drive and Doolittle. Other traffic doesn’t have this bad of a problem; please check the timing of the traffic lights to ensure fairness. 30 minutes to drive a few hundred feet is not reasonable. Even 20, which is typical, is not reasonable. I waited on Robert Davies Drive while the traffic light changed 9 times. That is simply not right.

    Issues:
    1. Timing of light at Island Drive and Otis Bridge. The timing of the light is such that all traffic is stopped whenever the Robert Davey Drive light is green.

    2. Island Drive traffic violations, resulting in drivers blocking the intersection. Drivers do not stop at the traffic light at the intersection of Robert Davey and Island Drive. Since this intersection is the start of Robert Davey Drive, there is no oncoming traffic from the other direction to convince Island Drive traffic to stop at the light. The result is that traffic trying to enter Island Drive from Robert Davey Drive has no way to enter even when there is some theoretical space, since the entrance is blocked by illegal traffic causing gridlock at the intersection.
