    This garbage container (#258) is regularly left open by Waste Mgt., as are other containers in the Dimond District (directly across MacArthur is another one #1640, also left open today). The city's contractor (Waste Mgt) needs to be instructed to ensure the containers are securely closed every time. I know the new numbering allow the city to do quality control, so I hope this carelessness can be corrected in these instances and in general. It is a regular occurrence at a number of locations.     The city's parking lot on Dimond Ave. and Bienati Way has overgrown, dry weeds along the Dimond Ave. planting area. We understand the City contracts for maintenance, but we don't see it happening. Volunteers have cleared weeds from the interior planted median, the planted corner of Dimond & Bienati Wy, and along Bienati Way. But this area (along Dimond Ave.) needs the City's attention.

    The door on this cement City garbage can has been broken for weeks and weeks. Waste Mgt is picking up the trash but it seems there is no arrangement with the City to report broken enclosures. The WM workers must see this situation EVERY SINGLE TIME. This door, swung open into the street, is a driving hazard and a hazard for buses, which have a stop at this spot. The ID # on the can is 001099.

The community has tried for years to get CVS to have a regular, at least twice weekly, service to pick up the litter. But this has never happened.     The city contracted for trees in the Bienati parking lot to be butchered! I witnessed it 6/22 and talked to the workers. They are not pruning by any acceptable standards; they are butchering. It’s outrageous given that the city is working on an urban forest master plan. City needs to discuss with community group, such as Dimond Improvement Association (and its beautification committee) before this type of job is undertaken. Would like to know who is managing this project so we can communicate. Thank you.
