Thank you for reporting the site to the Town. We will be dispatching our inspector to the site to evaluate the sidewalk. Please allow us up to two weeks to conduct the inspection.
Thats funny how that one was repaired but i filed a report 2 years ago and the only response i received was to advise me that the system was changing and i needed to resubmit.
Director of Engineering when is the sidewalk and tree going to be resolved at 27 Fairview Avenue?
So help me understand, the people/kids who keep falling as well as the tire i had to replace , the issue will be resolved in Spring of 2022?
Please note this was a similar response that i received last year except the month was February and year was 2021.
Please advise to whome I send the invoice to for the replacement of tires as well as who the kids family file their paperwork to regarding their injuries?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am sorry to hear of the people/kids falling, as well as your tire requiring replacement. While I started working for the Town of Hamden on June 28th, 2021 - I was made aware of the many issues along Fairview Avenue by residents submitting SeeClickFix issues. Thank you for doing that - greatly appreciated. I have flagged the entire area as a priority upon seeing the 27-45 addresses for the first time in September. I had/have currently exhausted the available budget, but we are in the process of getting additional funding, and your area will be corrected. Safety is a priority.
What is unfortunate, according to construction standards/guidance, concrete sidewalks are not normally poured after December 1st - but this is dependent on ambient temperatures - in cold weather the work should be protected from freezing with blankets and/or tents, and heaters, which would cost the town addition monies. [General Guidance cautions pouring below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and could be less, but it must never be poured onto frozen ground or exposed to freezing temperatures before it has set.] Therefore, the Spring of next year is the best that I/anyone can do. But I/Hamden will get your area corrected.
Regarding your last question, I do not know the answer to that, but I always think contacting your Legislative Town Council Representative (Abdul Osmanu I believe for your address) couldn't hurt. But, if I could fix your area today/right now, I would, but the winter is preventing me from doing that. MGK
