Description
From early Spring to late Fall, I drive a Vespa 150 and go up 100 to Farmington Avenue, make a right and go to the Fugiyama Halfway House light to make a left to go down Gilbertsville Road. My bike and myself are not heavy enough to change the light, so it never goes on my lane. Please adjust for lighter motorcycle type vehicles. Thanks.

The changing of the lights have nothing to do with the weight of your vehicle. Its about the sensors ( those metal wires) in the roadway sensing the metal of the vehicle. When you stop at the light, sit on the edge of those strips or on the corner of two of them . Works every time for my bike.
Option number two is if the light doesnt not trigger for two cycles, and the traffic is clear, just go.

this is everywhere! There is not enough metal mass to trip the light.

AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 9, 2009 AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for traffic-control signals.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 3112 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
6 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
7 § 3112. Traffic-control signals.
9 (b.1) Pedalcycle or motorcycle.--Notwithstanding any
10 provision of law to the contrary, the driver of a pedalcycle or
11 motorcycle approaching an intersection that is controlled by a
12 traffic-control signal utilizing a vehicle detection device that
1 is inoperative due to the size of the pedalcycle or motorcycle
2 shall come to a full and complete stop at the intersection and,
3 after exercising due care as provided by law, may proceed with
4 due caution when it is safe to do so. It is not a A defense to a
5. violation of subsection (a)(3) that is precluded where the
6 driver of a pedalcycle or motorcycle proceeded under the belief
7 that a traffic-control signal utilized a vehicle detection
8 device or was inoperative failed to operate due to the size of
9 the pedalcycle or motorcycle when the signal did not utilize a
10 vehicle detection device or that any device was did not in fact
11 inoperative operate due to the size of the pedalcycle or
12 motorcycle.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days

I agree with ghost rider.
For most of those sensors, weight is not the issue—they detect large metal objects within the sensor field. You will often see thin (1/4 - 1/2") lines forming a sort of rectangle on the road where the sensor cable is installed. Try to position the scooter directly over one of these lines if possible. It doesn't always work, even for large motorcycles like mine. If it doesn't, it's legal to proceed with caution as posted by ghost rider (and thanks for posting that regulation!).
