Description
This is a homeless encampment behind homes on Brigantine Road in Glen Cove. The area is full of dry brush, weeds, and eucalyptus trees - it is a fire waiting to happen, especially with 4th of July around the corner and illegal fireworks. The Vallejo Fire Department has been called and they cannot remove the squatters. Calls have been made by home owners in the area and this is not being taken seriously. Can someone from the City please have Vallejo PD go to the area and remove the individuals before homes go up in flames? Thank you.

I have not walked that far in on the trail for some time because it is overgrown and didn't know of the homeless issue. I do know however, that I have walked the beginning of this trail (off Glen Cove Road) and as the original post said, it is very brushy and dry AND this is a large area of land. I called the fire department and they said they were going to send an inspector out to look at the area (probably because of the above issue.) I gave them my number but did not get a reply which I was not expecting, HOWEVER, we do need closure if something is being done about the brush.
This area is known to be prone to fire. I suggested to the fire department that we get high school students out to weed wack it with gas powered weed wackers -- one of my students did this job on mare island. Otherwise, we need to get the sheep out here to clear it. Very dangerous.
Can we get a response about what is happening with this situation? Thank you for your consideration.

Thanks for reporting this issue! The Police Department's Community Service Section (CSS) has opened a case for this issue. CSS has one part-time and three full-time employees who are responsible for addressing all quality of life concerns, supporting Neighborhood Watch groups, and working with the Neighborhood Law Program and Code Enforcement to address distressed and dangerous properties. We work hard to investigate each report in a timely manner, and will investigate this report as soon as we possibly can. Please keep in mind there is a lengthy process to remove illegal encampments.
