Description

unable to even get car down either side of the street.people parking away from the curb probably to get out the passange side of the car, or car left at angle.It is a royal mess. Bulevard a hazzard. Ambulance, fire truck. UPS, Fedex even a police care bascked down it last week. People lives are at stake why won't someone do dsomething? Make it no street parking of make the bulevard smaller. There ared several very elderly people in this area as well as acouple of very handicaped children or young adults. WHo has to be the sacrifical lamb before someone does something. Mayor we challange you to try to drive this street early in the am or after dinner hour. You won't make it either.

The city knows about this and does nothing. Back in 2004 or 2005, the residents had a meeting with the mayor, the council and Mr. Mirch at which a resolution was made to narrow the boulevard (since some residents didn't want it removed). Since then, I have sent emails and letters. Still nothing done. Contacted two councilmen withing the past year. Still nothing done. When a friend brought it up to council a few months ago, she was told "the dpw already knows about it." Yea? Well, what are they going to do about it????? A new tenant moved in last March and was hit within one week!!!!! City of Troy: DO SOMETHING!!!!!

I just tried to drive down Blakely Ct. with my small SUV and had to go up on the curb of the island to get by. If I can't get down a street now one can my car is tiny. Maybe someone aught to take this public to the newspaper or TV. Troy has gone to the dogs or even the rats, no one seems to care about anything. Mr Mayor step up ato the plate and do your job and be also a concerned mayor care about you city and the little people not just where city hall goes.

I think the mayor is praying for warmer weather so he doesn't have to spend money on snow removal.

The Troy government is really playing with fire in my opinion.

They better hope no one dies because an ambulance can't navigate a public road or someone doesn't get killed in a fire because the fire trucks can't fit down a snow packed road.

You can bet they'll be H*LL to pay if that happens.

At the meeting w/city officials and Blakeley residents about 5 years ago, there were three firemen in attendance who had researched the issue with the State. The result was that 13" on each side of the boulevard should be removed in order for fire trucks to be able to get through. So what did the city do after hearing this? NOTHING!

snow removal that is a joke in some areas including Blakely ct. They can only do removal or plowing with equipment that fits show me what fits with a bulevard and cars.

Rod, only a couple of neighbors objected, calling the boulevard "historical" which I felt was "hysterical." A man, woman and two grown daughters objected. They're the ones on Blakeley that have (get this!)... a three-car garage and are never in danger of getting hit on the street. They did agree, however, that it would be okay to make it a little narrower when we had a public meeting. Since then, nothing has happened. NOTHING.

SORRY TO SEE THE FIRE ON MAPLE AVE. I REALLY FEEL FOR THE PEOPLE BUT I FEAR THAT THE SAME THING OR WORSE WILL HAPPEN A FEW BLOCKS UP THE ROAD. THE FIRE TRUCKS COULD NOT GET DOWN BLAKELY COURT NO MATTER HAW THEY WOULD TRY. IF THEY WENT UP ANOTHER BLOCK TO MONROE THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE TURN ON FONDA BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE CARS HAVE TO PARK THERE. THIS AREA IS IN A REAL PICKLE AND IT COULD BE A DEATH TRAP AND WITH SOME OF THE HOUSES SO CLOSE. I AM REALLY GETTING THE FEELING WE NEED TO GET SOME SORT OF LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE CITY.

I own a home on Blakeley and worry constantly about the fire trucks not being able to get there because of the boulevard. Mr. Mayor, are you listening????

I was at the meeting, there is no room. But some of the neighbors, I guess the ones with really small cars were up in arms. We heard about who designed them why they were built, etc. I thought it would it would hAve been a great idea to make them smaller or eliminate them but it sounded as if it was going to be trouble. As I remember money was put aside but was needed for a very expensive water main break on hoosick street. You may want it gone but that is not the only opinion.

Tom, yes, you were one of the three firemen at the meeting. I was there, too. I remember you reporting from the State that 13" removed on each side of the boulevard was needed. And, since you were there, you must remember that a resolution was made that the boulevard would be narrowed. And, unfortunately, the City has done nothing ever since that day - almost five years ago!!!!

ask the fire department that was here for a true fire last eve how difficult it was to get to where they were going. How about looking at the tire tracks in the mud/durt on the bulevard. Troy is a real class act that is afraid of a couple people and putting many others at risk because it won't follow up on someting that already had money and commimentment to make this area narrower for safety. Big deal we are nothing but taxpayers to a city that does nothing for its people
