Drug dealers living at the brick building on the corner of Liberty Street and Carlisle. They work with the drug dealers living at the white and blue dilapidated house 3 doors up.
This issue has yet to be acknowledged. What is the problem?...Do I have to take pictures and post them as well? The white and blue house at 64 Liberty street was last owned by Kennedy Hampton. The brick building at 58 Liberty street is owned by Bridgehaven Properties, LLC which is under Virginia Abraham according to the C.O.N.C.O.R.D website.
As usual, these issues have not been acknowledged by ANY city department. I guess it takes someone to get shot or God forbid, killed in order for any response to appear.
Instead of consistently being reactive, it's way past the time to have become PROACTIVE
SECTION 8 VOUCHER REVOKED!!
For the first time ever, New Haven Housing Authority finally has decided to follow HUD guidelines and revoke the Section 8 voucher of tenant at 299 Greenwich Ave (in City Point neighborhood) due to persistent gun & drug arrests at this address. (Unfortunately, this is NOT a guarantee that they’ll be moving: if they continue to pay rent with their OWN money the landlord can continue to keep them there—in which case, our next step is to go after the landlord.)
SO HOW WAS THIS ACCOMPLISHED? Because NEIGHBORS were willing to keep the police updated about the illegal activity taking place at 299 Greenwich so that a HISTORY of police reports and arrests could be accumulated. IF THERE’S NO OFFICIAL RECORD OF COMPLAINTS, ETC. THEN POLICE & HOUSING CAN DO NOTHING.
If this can work on Greenwich Ave., it can work on this street.
Police narcotics anonymous tip line: 203-946-6098 or crime incident investigations and Wanted Persons anonymous tip line: 1-866-888-TIPS(8477) You never have to give your name. If you don’t want the police to be able to see your number on caller ID, first press *67 then dial the tip line number.
Our success on Greenwich Ave. can't happen on YOUR street without YOU.
Due to the age of this post, it will be closed. NHPD is now monitoring these posts and will be looking at current issues. If these are continuing problems, please report as a new post in this category. This issue will remain on this site and will be archived. Thank you.
