from grand ave. to chapel st. there is a 5 block uninterupted stretch of what some believe to be a racetrack, drivers are constantly speeding up and down this street with no regard for any ones safety. there is no lights, stop signs, speed bumps, or police to deter this dangerous behaviour on blatchley ave. between grand ave. and chapel st.

I agree, the street needs traffic calming. I travel on it often and it is very discouraging. Curb bump-outs for pedestrians, wide painted bicycle lanes or tree-lined pedestrian medians in the center of the street would narrow the street, which would tend to lower speed of drivers. Obviously, there are many other possible options as well.
A small investment in these kinds of change to the street would yield an enormous benefit in terms of higher property values, so it's definitely something you should push for.
