This issue is still open. The sidewalk is too close to the road at the intersection of Galloway Rd\Mallard Creek Rd. It is unsafe for pedestrians to walk on the sidewalk due to this oversight by Charlotte DOT Sidewalk division. If someone would come out and look at this, you can actually see where residents are walking on the grass instead. The sidewalk needs to be (1) Rerouted behind the telephone pole, between the Chatham neighborhood sign or (2) A new section of sidewalk needs to be poured behind the telephone pole. I'm sure different options are available. Cars run off the road on a regular basis near this intersection (Galloway Rd\Mallard Creek Rd). The sidewalk in it's current position is unsafe to pedestrians and to their pets.
